Reminder: WCB Coverage for Fishing Workers
Do you, your partner or a member of your family fish for a living in PEI? If so, it’s important for you to know that in PEI, fishers are not automatically covered under the Workers Compensation Act. This means that, if you fish for a living, you are not automatically covered by the WCB if you suffer a work-related injury or illness. However, fishing captains who are employers can purchase Optional Coverage with the WCB to cover their workers.
