COVID-19 Small Business Support Grant
The COVID-19 Small Business Support Grant will provide a grant to eligible businesses ranging from $2,500 to $7,500 based on the businesses November 2021 gross payroll or revenue.
Who is eligible for funding?
Eligibility criteria include:
- Eligible businesses are those businesses closed to in-person services restricted by the enhanced Public Health Measures introduced on January 18, 2022, including:
- Gyms, group fitness classes and indoor recreational facilities, bingo halls, museums, casinos, theatres, and cinemas. (excluding municipally owned or operated facilities).
- Full-service restaurants, bars or other licensed premises closed to in-room dining (quick-service restaurants are ineligible).
- Must be operating/located in PEI.
- Franchises locally owned/operated.
- Incorporated businesses that operate more than one eligible business establishment under a single corporate entity, may apply for a rebate for each business establishment.
* Seasonal businesses not operating during the period are not eligible.
What Level of Assistance is available?
The rebate will be calculated based on the businesses November 2021 gross payroll or gross monthly revenue.

How do I apply?
- You may be qualified for both the COVID-19 Small Business Support Grant and the COVID-19 Wage Rebate for Impacted Industries. There is one application for both programs. Please review both programs before starting your application if you wish to apply for either or both programs.

Completed applications will be reviewed on a first-come, first-serve basis.
What do I need to apply?
To make application, be prepared to provide business information including:
- Active Canada Revenue Agency (CRA) Business Number (E.g. 12345 6789 RT001);
- Validation of the November 2021 payroll and/or November 2021 gross monthly revenue, including ONE of the following documents based on your selection:
- Gross Monthly Payroll: Internal payroll expenses summary OR written confirmation of November 2021 payroll cost from a professional external accountant.
- Gross Revenue: Copy of the business HST return OR Internal Income Statement OR Written confirmation of November 2021 gross revenue from a professional external accountant.
- Description of business operations;
- Description of how the enhanced Public Health Measures impacted your business;
- A monitored email address and contact information.
- Business banking information, including a copy of a VOID cheque; and
- Submission of the completed online application.
The application must be completed in full. Please keep your submission ID number for future reference.
How do I make a Request for Payment?
If an application is determined to be eligible, payment will be made directly to the Businesses bank account as provided, using direct deposit. The rebate will be based on the actual payroll or revenue documents requested and as evidenced at the time of application.
When is the deadline for applications?
Applications will be accepted until March 21, 2022.
