Dealing with Sexual Harassment: PEI Human Rights Commission Summer Education Series

The Workplace Sexual Harassment Project of the PEI Human Rights Commission is a five-year, federally funded initiative that will work to address and prevent sexual harassment in Island workplaces. This summer, we are offering a Summer Education Series; a series of on-line introductory workshops about workplace sexual harassment.

The Summer Education Series will give you an introduction to our full Workplace Training Programs, which we are piloting in the fall in PEI’s restaurant industry. Before the end of 2021, the Workplace Training Programs will be open to every workplace and industry.

If you are an Employer, Manager, or Human Resource personnel of any Island workplace, this series is for you.

Workshop #1: Manager’s Toolkit: Prevention This session will help you define sexual harassment in the workplace, best practices on how to prevent it in your workplace, and tools needed for addressing it when it happens.

Workshop #2: Now what?! Building Skills & Confidence to Investigate Workplace Sexual Harassment This session will help you develop confidence in investigating complaints of workplace sexual harassment. Using an asset-based approach, you will learn how to create an investigation procedure and the common pitfalls to avoid when conducting an investigation.
