Feedback Wanted on Annual Minimum Wage Review

Islanders are invited to provide feedback as part of the Employment Standards Board annual review of the minimum wage.

Under the Employment Standards Act, the board reviews the minimum wage each year and recommends future rates to government based on economic conditions and feedback from the public and stakeholders.

Islanders can submit written feedback until October 30, 2026, in the following ways:

Individuals and organizations who provide written submissions may also request an opportunity to make an in-person presentation to the Employment Standards Board. If you wish to make a presentation, contact labourrelations@gov.pe.ca or call 902-368-5550.

Prince Edward Island’s minimum wage is currently $17.00 per hour, the highest in Atlantic Canada, and is scheduled to increase to $17.30 on October 1, 2026, and to $17.60 on April 1, 2027.

The annual review will consider future minimum wage rates beyond the increases already announced. For more information, click here.
