GCACC News: Student Work Placement Program Subsidy
The Greater Charlottetown Area Chamber of Commerce has partnered with Magnet in the (SWPP) to provide wage subsidies (UP TO 75%) for members who have hired students for work placements over the past 8 months.
- If you hired a student for a work placement in the fall of 2020 or winter of 2021, your organization is eligible to receive 75% or $7500 in wage subsidies retroactively through this program.
- If you plan to hire a student for summer 2021, you could be eligible for up to 70% or $7,000 in wage subsidies when hiring students in underrepresented groups including women in STEM, Indigenous students, newcomers, and persons with disabilities, as well as first-year students.
- When hiring students, not in these groups, you could be eligible for 50% or $5000.
