Union Training and Innovation Program Funding: Investments in Training Equipment Stream

The Union Training and Innovation Program (UTIP) supports the Government of Canada’s commitment to strengthen union-based apprenticeship training, innovation and enhanced partnerships. The Investments in Training Equipment Stream supports cost-shared purchases of equipment and materials for training (union-led).
This application process is intended to fund projects that will strengthen training in the trades to better support a skilled, inclusive, certified and productive trades workforce in order to achieve the following objectives:
To increase investment in up-to-date training equipment and materials for higher quality training, leading to a more skilled and productive trades workforce;
Where applicable, to improve the participation and success of key groups in trades training and careers (including women, Indigenous people, newcomers, persons with disabilities, and visible minorities/racialized persons); and
Where applicable, to enhance broad-based partnerships between organizations (e.g. with employers, community/non-profit groups, and educational institutions and other training providers).
